Many times, Allah swt gives us what we really need at the most important moments of our lives, even without us asking.

Such is He, the Most Merciful.

But us, we are ungrateful. When we receive blessings from Allah swt, we get ourselves drowned in them and then slowly, we forget Him who has given us those blessings. We forget the Source. Our love for Allah swt now gets divided and we place others where only He should be, in our hearts. We commit shirk in our hearts, and we don’t realize it.

When we do not have something, when we are needy, we turn to Him, in all humility, in all human weakness, in all sincerity but when we feel fulfilled and happy because of some of His blessings, we turn away from Him and we get over-attached to the blessings. In no time, our hearts are no longer attached to Allah swt and His Beloved saw, our hearts are no longer only needy of Allah swt, we now crave to be with our blessings, constantly, all the time.

Unfortunately, that’s not possible. Nobody can be with us 24/7 except Allah swt. When we fill our hearts with other than Allah swt, that’s what happens. We become dependent on matters of this world to bring us the satisfaction to the heart that only God can provide.

When we are single, we seek Allah swt’s help to give us patience and to grant us the right partners. When our prayers are answered and we get married, all our tears, joy and love is now within the marriage. Not that it is bad. It’s healthy but then you begin to wonder, “When was the last time I cried in sajdah? In joy or sadness?”

Now, we reflect and realize that we have confused and mixed up all of our love affairs. Allah swt and His Beloved saw have taken the backseat in our lives? Wasn’t Allah swt and His Beloved saw the one and only goal of the marriage in the first place? Nauzubillah min zaalik…

Ya Rabb, forgive us, and accept our sincere repentance,

again, and again, and again :’-(

Come, come, whoever you are.

Indeed, we are an-naas.

We made istikhaara and we trusted the One who guides. We believed in His promise. We knew that if it was meant to be, He would plant the love and mercy between us.

Now as each new day unveils itself, i feel infinitely grateful to Allah swt for uniting us… and i do not regret one ounce that ours, is an ‘arranged’ marriage… arranged by God this is.

The Creator knows what’s best for His creations and He knew you’re my BEST match. And yes you are, I love you. all thanks to Allah swt.
